Has anyone tried to fold on a MBP or MB running in Windows via bootcamp? It might actually kick butt. Obviously, not useful if you're using OS X, but if you're going to be away, asleep, etc, you could reboot into windows during that time.

Ack! FrontPage! Microsoft should abolish both FrontPage and Publisher, two of the worst applications ever written. I can't think of any Web app that generates worse code than FrontPage (except maybe GoLive 5 or iWeb) and Publisher is the bane of any real graphic designer's or professional printer's existence.

Haven't seen Secrets and Lies yet. The last great movie I saw was Y Tu Mama Tambien. I saw Road to Perdition and Minority report too, but Y Mama was raunchy, and I like raunchy.:D I'll look for it next time I go out though. :)

Microsoft could scrap their OS, and build a new one from the ground up. I know they have to provide legacy support but if microsoft said all of the companies (software and hardware) had to rewrite to make compatible, they would all do it. eventually.

Oooh, I think I remember that vaguely...But four channels was the best. You had to use up two channels at a time to actually get the sound out of both speakers. But some of the music was *amazing*... Ahhh, good old 8-bit Ensoniq guts. :)

I'm in New Hampshire and use Gamefly, it takes about 5 days for me to get a game and about 1-2 days for them to get notice from USPS that I returned a game, they use a scanning feature that allows them to have USPS send them details and ship a game to you before they physically receive it.
Probably the best thing I like about Gamefly is the rewards program they have, every 3 months you get 5 Gamefly bucks and on top of that you get either a 5% or 10% (off their keep it price) discount depending how long you've been a member. I just went over a year and get 10% off so when I rent and want to keep it I'm getting about $15-$20 off a new release (I can keep GR:AW2 for $43.19 or Crackdown for $40.49, not bad for 2 recently released games that are MSRP $59.99).

Apple desperately needs to refresh the entire line for MWSF. They are once again becoming the laughing stock of the hardware industry. Everyone else is at 2+ GHz w/400MHz FSBs (yes I do know clock doesn't mean everything, but come on!) using DDR in desktops (up to PC3500 - that's 437.5MHz!) and DDR SODIMMs in laptops, insanely faster graphics cards (GeForce 4Ti's w/1.2GB of DDR RAM on 8x AGP), larger & faster hard drives (100 -200GB on dual ATA 133 buses is standard), dual optical drives (32x CDRWs, etc.), USB 2.0, 54Mbit 802.11, and the biggest slap in Apple's face - insanely superior audio - Dolby Digital 5.1 outputs, SPDIF in & out, plus QUALITY analog. And the PC market does all of this at half the price of a Mac. The thing about the PC stuff is I don't have to run Mickeysoft crap on it anymore, I can run Linux now. I'm in the market for a new Mac, but holy ***** Apple, get your act together! :mad:

I have added a couple of more MacBooks to the group.
The portables seem to run at full fan speed whe the SMP client is running.
I have seem to be getting about 6 to 7 percent failure to complete a unit but to date all of my 9 machines seem to be able to run the units and other applications.
I haven't had any of the issues that trainguy77 has described.

Microsoft invested $150 million in Apple in 1997 though the purchase of 150,000 shares of non-voting preferred stock. That stock became convertible in 2000, and by the end of Microsoft had converted all of its preferred stock into about 18 million shares of Apple common stock. All of that stock has been sold off.
Microsoft used to own a very tiny amount of Apple stock through a Private Capital Management fund which was bought into by a variety of companies of which Microsoft was one, but I think that PCM no longer has any Apple stock in the fund.
