Gartner targets a Windows Vista release in the April-June quarter of nine to 12 months after Microsoft conducts a second major test, or "beta," release for Vista during the current quarter.
Why don't they just give up Vista. Q2 2007 now? HA. Apple should make another new ad about this. Get switchers.

Is it possible to purchase broadband from Bulldog and keep my existing BT telephone through the same line?

i think if steve did this you guys would say he is blowing his horn too loud and would pretty much put him down. why give a keynote on bragging about yourself?
thats a good question. why do people have birthday parties?
why should we get new products. the current ones are fine just as they are.
its not his own horn. it is all of apple's. (pretty dam big horn if you ask me) deserves to be blown.

i have a 5gb ipod and enjoy it a lot. I dont see the big deal with the wheel, but it sounds cool. I have plenty of music and you can easily decide which 5 gb of music you want with you at any given time using the sync by playlist option.
Bottom line, I agree that now is as good as time as any to buy from a product release standpoint

I didn't notice the user id of the thread starter xrhajj. I mistakenly got the idea from your d-link and ipod attachment statement that you wanted to transmit files with BT. I've been waiting to listen without wires for sometime now:) that's why I bought a T68:D sorry

I have a feeling we'll be seeing the El Capitan for another year at least. Otherwise, why would they bother rearranging the innards for the MDD's? We all know that the massive power supply and heat sink isn't being used fully by the current hardware sitting in there, so we'll at least be seeing that played out (I hope... ).
Personally, I'd go with the El Capitan case for good and not complain. :) The handles are great, the flip-down side is invaluable, now all they need is a front-mounted USB and FW port and I'll be happy!

Do you guys know if there's any way to setup folding to run during the login screen and/or when a user's logged in but without them knowing (except, of course, for the 100-200% CPU usage)?

that would be a step backwards because of the slow transfer speeds of bluetooth.

From what I've read the last thirty days, the powerbook would probably be a great computer for me, as well as anyone who can treat it with kid gloves. However, it seems its durabilityand airport range in real world situations is definitely lacking. That said, the ibook will have to be my choice. My question is thus, switching from win 98 with a PIII 1ghz, will I notice any slowdown? Applications would include word, web surfing and I would like to do some home digital photo editing (photoshop). Any comments would be appreciated. thanks.

I believe you found an old PowerBook G3.
This is most likely pretty old, on the order of 3-4 years. Judging from the descriptions, it is most likely either the Wallstreet enclosure or more likely the Lombard/Pismo PowerBooks. I recognise the angled fans on the sides as being like those in my Pismo as is the push button release for the screen portion of the laptop. There is no such release button on the Walstreet models(they have a pull-release latch). Additionally, the drawings are purposefully vague to represent a more generic enclosure with the detail digrams focussing on the innovative and thus patented parts which could well explain the double squres represing "mouse" buttons.
BTW.... the head of the PowerBook Team has said repeatedly that Apple's reseach has found that most folks carry their internal expansion bay devices outside the Powerbook but in the same bag which means that there is little true portability gained by not providing internal expansion bays and thus the justification for dropping them on the PowerBook Ti line in favor of a slimmer design.

The company would be sold if someone wanted to get rid of it. But if for some reason it did happen AMD would take the majority of the business.
