Some many moons ago ..... a man named Steve obs said that he didn't want a "scribble thing". If for some unknown reason he (as usual) changes his mind (emac), then he would have a lot of explaining to do to old newton developers and users alike.

I got MSN DSL a few weeks ago, my friend says that i can not run a server. He says that all the pings/requests go to the modem not my G4. Also he says that my modem has now port mapping options. The modem is the modem that comes with MSN DSL its a ARESCOM NETDSL 800. Do any of you have MSN or know a way i can run a server? Thanks guys, this place is GREAT!

well it would be an odd trend with lots of underlying significance if MS made such a u-turn on the matter.

The UK has a tradition for very expensive, sophisiticated advertising campaigns - the prevalence of the BBC means that the British traditionally have low tolerance for advert breaks so they have to be enjoyable and endear themselves to the public. As a result, we don't 'buy in' a huge amount - although I bet the new Apple ones would go down really well here, they are very much in the British quirky/funny advertising tradition, unlike any older apple ads I can think of. :)
The exceptions tend to be cosmetic/beauty/frozen food type products which, as someone said, often seem to be badly dubbed from German... and Microsoft/IBM business I.T. adverts. I can't believe those Microsoft adverts have ANY effect in the British market, other than retaining brand identity.

everyone is forgetting that the TiBook already had an external drive. Before the combo drive was available, you could get the TiBook with and external CD-RW. ;)

I would be interested to hear how the old imac is selling. If it is selling well enough - Apple should continue by all means to keep it in the lineup- at least until it can get the emac price under $1000 US.
It wouldn't be too hard to up it to 700mhz and drop the price (one would think) to $699. I dunno about dropping a G4 in the model when you have the emac already.
I would love to see an under $1000 CDN mac- about $629 US.

Re-read your post on the first page. So, there's been no one that has run into rtgoldfish on X-Box Live?
At least that could make for a possible lead if someone could get the thief to say where he/she lives.

Macs have again taken the lead in my opinion with OS X and the Dual 1.25.
No one will ever change my mind. Call me a zealot, but that is what I think.
I am in a critical thinking class, and we spend 3 hrs a day, 2 times a week talking about people who rationalize like BackToTheMac. "No one will ever change my mind"
That is complete suppression of all the facts that are given to you. I think its a shame that you logically in your mind come to these conclusions. I bet you think Friday the 13th is dangerous, and you have lucky numbers huh :)

On a similar note, Seagate will be coming out with a Terabyte hard drive (1000 Gigabytes) sometime in 2003.
This will have huge implications to the music and movie business, since you will be able to store over 100+ DVDx quality 2 hour feature movies on 1 holographic CDR or 1000+ movies on one terabyte hard drive.

The holographic CD sounds to me like it would be extremely vulnerable to scratches. I read the article with that in mind and no where in there does it talk about applications for consumers like you and me. It talks about theaters using it for digital movies and the like and other manufacturors using it but not end consumers.

It's a well known fact that even Jobs himself didn't use a Mac when he returned to Apple. Can't believe this guy had a mullet. Too funny.

Well I am not sure if I would take another free printer but I would take one just to have another one. Just because I like Apple doesnt mean that if they want to give me a new printer for free I wouldn't take it. Apple has tons of money.
