Anyone know if these are the same loops already released months ago by Drums on Demand directly? I already downloaded those (they're good!) so I won't bother downloading again if it's the same set.
TIA!

PC equivalents??? If you are talking about the Profile 4, it has no DVD, no 60 GB hard drive, no DVD burning, and is slower.... yes the 2 Ghz Pentium IV is slower than 800 Mhz G4. Oh and the screen of the Profile 4 is nowhere as adjustable as the Flat Panel iMac. What a joke..."PC equivalents." The profile at first sounds better because they use Mhz, but then when you actually look at it, the software is worse, it is coming from a company that won't sell abroad and is near financial ruin, and I could go on and on...it just isn't worth it. You show me one PC that is equivalent to the Flat Panel iMac in terms of ease of use, flexibility of hardware and software, that betters it in specs at the same price one to one, and I'll show you something you missed.

Supposedly Wii was supposed to go online in March. This would definitely match what I had heard earlier. Can't find the article that references a March being the month it goes online, but will link if I do.

How many computers do you use? I use 6 computers from a G3/300 B/W to an 1.25Ghz eMac. I average about 13 hrs per SETI unit, because of the G3. If it wasn't in the mix I could drop it to 11 hrs. Oh, for you PowerBook user running SETI (my's a 667 G4), run a small fan across the PB to keep the internal fan from kicking in. They run hot, I set my PB on rubber erasers (the pink old fashion ones) to gain airflow underneath the PB. Plus the PB doesn't slide around anymore.I don't and won't do anything for SETI. If extraterrestrial life existed God would have told us from the beginning. ;) All in all it is a waste of time and a waste of your life for an empty cause.

I thought he said JDK 1.4...
In any case, I'm sure he was asking about Java version 1.4, which is the current version. Hopefully it will be available soon for Mac OS X.
Jaguar ships with Java version 1.3.1.
Is it just me, or does there appear to be a lot of color variation in the front panel sections on the various Xserves?

I had to laugh when I saw this Top 10 Windows Downloads (http://www.download.com/3101-20-0-1.html) list from CNET.
The top 10 consist of:4 apps to deal with spyware
1 app to fix problems in the Windows registry (problems caused by spyware?)
3 apps to share files on the Internet (files such as spyware?)
1 app to package files (so you can share them on the Internet?)
1 app to chat with people about dealing with spyware, fixing the registry, and sharing filesIf PC users spend all their time defending and fixing their PCs, then who is actually producing anything useful?
My guess? Mac users!
Has anybody measured what percentage of the time PC users are creating anything of value (real work) rather than spending their hours fixing problems or dealing with software maintenance, crashes, and other efforts it takes to keep the computer in a state where, in theory, they might be able to do some real work?
Do those numbers differ for Mac users, as some of us would like to assume?

I played WoW for one of those week-log trial periods. Then I got bored, realised I wanted a deep solo RPG and bought a 360 and Oblivion.

Yes.
Apple historically has had great advertising (until recently). Go here: http://cupertino.de/pages/frameset.html
The site is in german, but Anzeigen is print advertising, Broschuren is brochures, and TV spots are TV spots. Most of the content is in english. If you go to confidential, you can find a section with prototypes.

This sucks.... its interesting but still sucks.
But it can be fixed by possibly: Encrypting (or Changing the way it is encrypted) the AAC file on the transfer from itms to the player.
or force the player to send the authorize code to apple to wrap on <i> their</i> servers before send it back to the player.
If they do the server fix it'll take more than a day.
Does anybody have more of an idea on how the DRM wrapping is done and how the undrmed file is transfered?

I've been using it for a while. It's simply and free. Virtual Desktop is much more complete, e.g. you can drag a window from one desktop to another in the pager. It's not free, though.

Is it common in your country for companies to run ads made for American audiences without retooling them with British actors, etc? IE, do you see a lot of "American" ads?We often get foreign ads normally from Europe though, and normally for cleaning products, for some reason. They generally are badly dubbed with 'proper' British voices, so you can spot them a mile off. :D

A friend of mine works with the Xbox support team. I'll ask him if there's anything (legal) that they can do. You have my admiration for your good detective work!
That would be great. I'm sure there must be SOMETHING they can do.

Sick of applescript programs for video conversion, here's my new Cocoa app written entirely in Objective-C, multithreaded, to encode a variety of movie formats into vcd mpeg1/svcd mpeg2, xvcd, xsvcd, and DVD ready for DVD Studio Pro format.

There is a variety of different options available for todays media afficianado, we find the format to be trusted by the experts, and that maintains the widest range of compatability is MPEG. (Specifically MPEG-1 and MPEG-2)
It has become clear to us that it isn't as easy as it should be to convert the wide array of available media formats to (S/X)VCD/DVD. In an effort to answer a large demand for a simple to use program that encompasses the large spectrum of options available to the Macintosh platform we are proud to bring you Echelon.
Convert multiple files
Echelon delivers the capability of converting a large queue list of files to a variety of different MPEG based formats (MPEG-1 and MPEG-2). It aims to employ all the complex video tools in one easy to use program.
Limitless customization
In an effort to accomodate your personal needs each file maintains its own individual settings. It is also possible to save your favorite presets for future usage.
Fast, Reliable, Simple
We have put in endless hours of research to only allow conversion methods that will solely yield usable end products. We aim to have a harmonious blend of intuitition and simplicity, the things you have come to expect as a Macintosh user.
Advanced User Features
In an effort to meet the needs of the varied levels of experience within our userbase we have implemented an array of advanced features for each encoder included.
Realtime Preview
In addition to intuitive graphical and textual progress indication, the user has the freedom to view the actual frames of video as they are encoded.
Multiple Effect Filters
From adjusting gamma (to be implemented later), to deinterlacing, to denoising we attempted to supply all the necessary effect filters for any of your desired outcomes.
World friendly
We will be localizing Echelon in multiple languages, and are up to suggestion for any localizations we didn't cover, dont hesitate to contact us with more language suggestions.

I think Apple would be making a huge mistake to sacrafice the form factor to accommodate a Superdrive.
What percentage of laptop users need the ability to burn DVD's on the plane, in a car, waiting for a bus (etc...)? It's not like I don't understand how cool it would be to have a PowerBook with a Superdrive, but never at the expense of the it's design. How could you sacrifice it's shape for something as frivilous as a DVD burner?

I'm calling early October around the same time they revved last year. If they aren't revved by late december, we may as well expect an entirely new iBook or iBook replacement product line. I doubt that tho. The IceBook is one of the most successful Apple products ever, and is one of the main switch products.

I think that has to do with the fact that banned members are no longer counted in the total members, but are still counted when a new person joins. Err...I think Mr. Anderson could probably explain it better than I could.
