I glance at DealMac (http://dealmac.com) every day just to make sure there's nothing awesome that I didn't know I wanted that I can get for cheap (their tagline, "How to go broke saving money", is the most accurate I've ever seen), but one thing I don't expect from that site is humor.

Well, today, if you go and scroll down to a deal on a 7" digital picture frame (Photo category), you will see the following, which conntains an aside I personally found absolutely hilarious for some reason:

PhotoShare 7" Digital Photo Frame for $94 shipped
Buy.com cut its price on the PhotoShare 7" Digital Photo Leather Frame, model no. DAF7NBR, to $93.99. (Angry baby photo not included. We hope.) With free shipping, that's a $6 overnight drop and the lowest total price we've seen. Able to read Memory Stick or Secure Digital card formats, this frame features AV output jacks, AC adapter, USB cable, AV cable, and removable leather display frame. Shutterfly adds 15 5x7" digital prints for free. Deal ends June 15.
Emphasis mine... and indeed, if you look at Buy.com's product photography, the picture they've chosen to showcase it with can only be described as an "angry baby photo". Go to Buy.com and check out the full-sized images for the full effect--it's kind of scary.

I would love to work at an Apple store, but the fact that you can not visit or post on Mac forums like this makes me a little turned off because Mac forums are what make my day. :p I can understand why it is against policy though. I guess it'd be cool to know when new products are being shipped in and stuff.

Steve Jobs isn't looking over your shoulder every minute, and Apple doesn't tap your computer's IP address to see where you're going. Don't identify yourself as an employee or announce to your store manager that you post on the forums...and you'll be fine.

I guess it's possible, but I think regardless of whether Apple is at the G5 still, or the G7, getting to be a G5 on this forum is still going to require an awful lot of posts! But, if some people continue on their current pace, I guess you never know! I got nothing against them, but I mean, geez, 14 posts a day in some cases!?! Yikes! You crazy guys... :D

I originally Wastelanded this, but am currently of the opinion that it's not harmful. I would certainly welcome the input of any other moderators, but, as far as I can tell, it's not spam per se because I see no real gain for the original poster if people go to the site.

-ibook will be getting the radeon 7500 which is currently on the powerbook right now

-Apple will always going to favor more on the powerbook because its more expensive and people that put out money for the powerbook should get the technology first

but tibooks screen is 15.2 vs 14.1 at biggest for ibook, and at least one ibook will have 12.1" inch screen

tibook is titanium and ibook is plastic

    tibook has pcmcia

tibook has larger RAM limit, and higher RAM already installed on its models to start with

tibook has g4 processor, ibook has g3 processor

tibook is thinner and basically, much sexier, for those of you industrial design fans

so i think it's ok if both get 64 MB video cards...there are pcs out there at ibook price levels with the 64 MB video card so apple needs at least that boost...ok, then, so charge 1299 for basic ibook and go up from there to 1899, but give us that 64 MB video card...apple inc is known for their multimedia machines...right?

why have pc club and other pc office machine makers have the 64 mb video card in their laptops?

the tibook is an all around better machine than the ibook, even if it ends up with the same video card in both

but a 32 meg video card in the ibook will sitll definitely be a boost from the 16 meg video card it currrently has:D

The scripts include an alias work, which should be available in Terminal. You can also check unitinfo.txt for progress information. I'm not sure where the file is on your system, so please search for it.

Yeah, I was in the middle of the [360] GRAW2 demo in a blaze of glory and all the sudden I see a blue light in front of me near feet level...and I thought "whoa GRAW2 took realism to a whole new level". LMAO :D

Look at the spymac article from a couple of days ago.

Some big things are going to happen.

    1) G5 finally. The double processor and DDR do not creat enough heat to explain the new case design. This is the original G4. Hyper G3. The Original G4 which i have is basically a souped G3 chip with all of the g4 board stuff. The same is the dual power macs. But this time it was called the G4 instead of G5. we will see the new proccessors in october and hear a schedule that says early 2003 (Seybold time frame) but the G5 power mac will be at macworld. Im saying 1.3 (student) 1.4, 1.5, 1.6 initally. DDR faster bus, bluetooth (with mouse and keyboard) and an inkwell input device.

But the big things cant be predicted. We will see 2 ghz in 2003 we may see past that but who knows. I dont im a college kid who loves the mac. No one posting here knows any more than I do. Its all about realistic predictions and no one posting is doing so. There will be a whole lot of things happening in 2003 but what they are I dont have a F@&!ing clue.

So that is why on my DDR machine the ram slots are now right above the heat sink rather then clear across the motherboard from the cpu on my old B/W G3. So they did this so the air being pushed through the heatsink wouldn't also get pushed up and over ram cards? I personally haven't checked to see if the DDR ram is hotter I just know what I've read about PC's that went from SDR to DDR and yes they got hotter.

Just because the voltage is lower does not always mean that it produces less heat. Also on my machine the clockspeed is not the same it is now 167Mhz. The people pushing for DDR in the Powerbooks also want the 167Mhz Bus because the current machines already have 133Mhz bus' in them. Between the Bus and the DDR Ram there is a heat increase.

I've had a couple wireless mice and I've never liked them. Always a bit too heavy or off balance, a hassle to recharge, annyoing to set up the receiver and sync the devices (orientation..ugh), and generally they have all been slightly buggy... It looks like it will be corded for a while for me. However maybe if Apple does it, they'll do it right.

    MacBandit:

I still believe that I read somewhere that the Altivec units were a big part of the Mhz hold back on the G4.

Of course you could have read it somewhere. :)

If the G4 is well designed (which I think is true), most of the parts are finding their max speed at more-or-less the same time. Otherwise some parts have too much headroom, and hence are probably a waste of resources.

most of them have changed their tar (even I did for a while before coming back to this one).

Nintendo's rumble works in a different way to that of Sony and MS, so therefore didn't have to pay a cent to that company that eludes my mind right now.

    Immersion :)

I bought an iFeel mouse from Logitech that incorporates Immersion's FF technology. It wasn't on the market for very long, but some (PC) games support it - Most notably, Unreal Tournament.

had to dl it from cnet since mozilla's website is a little busy at the moment.

latest version seems a little faster when dl'ing webpages. i like the update feature as well. only thing is that it couldn't update all the themes that i had installed. oh well.

is it me or does anyone else hate the way the google search box looks? i was hoping they could make it a little more sleek or attractive in this upgrade. ;)

in any case, latest version seem pretty shh-weet.

I love Thunderbird and I'm glad it made it all the way to version 1.0.

I switched from Eudora because Eudora was going nowhere and cost a lot to stay current, even if it was better at history than most e-mail clients. I like Thunderbird better than Apple's mail simply because it runs on multiple platforms and will gain from all of the extra users experiencing it.

Good for them updating, and boo-hoo for all the babies who complain they are screwing the early adopters. Where were these people when the DS Lite came out? If you early adopt you enjoy the system before others... if this makes someone who didn't buy a 360 get one, then that's great for everyone. In the mean time you had one and they didn't. You're paying a price for having it longer. Investments equal time. Imagine if I had bought my gamestop stock at 34 instead of 24? I paid to have it sooner, and I took a risk, too. Should I be upset at those who bought it lower than me because they got more reward? Please.

My only problem is that they want to make it "limited quantities." This will boost 360 sales, which is what the console wars seem to be based on. I think they should keep it around. Why not? I am considering a 360 because of Trusty Bell, and I want to be sure I can get an elite when that time comes!

IMO, FF has only 1 thing on Safari. Long select bars with scrolling. Having to actually wade through a jillion entries in a scroll bar on Safari sucks. Otherwise, FF is too Netscape like.. an interface I cannot stand.
Safari list shortcut: type part of the item (like a state name or whatever). Press Return to select it.

The only browsers that manage to save CSS properly are IE (windows) and Opera.
I believe that Tiger adds the ability to save an entire page with "the works" from Safari. Anyone know how well that feature works with CSS?

i recently purchased an eMac about a month ago.
today i read an article stating there was a bad shipment of eMacs and that some displays do not work properly.
so i went to the discussion forum at mac.com and now i am scared.
it seemed there were many people who have a display problem.
i found there were two major catagories of problems.
    the first being.
    1. (less minor) a pulse/jiggle in the lower right corner of the screen.
    2. (major) a pop sound, a burn smell, followed by a black screen.

thankfully i have not had any major problems. but i think there is a slight pulse.
do you think this is something i should worry about?

are there any eMac users who do not have this problem?

or perhaps the same minor one i have?
