Online play would be great and I would buy it for that aspect alone, if not, I woud try it out first. I would like to play some Wii games with my rural friend.

If you go to a concert, theatre play, any kind of performance or into any of fee-charging class or course and smuggle yourself in through some kind of backdoor without paying for the ticket or the course, did you steal anything?
Not according to your logic.
Should this behaviour be allowed?
So, what did I steal? Steal: To take (the property of another) without right or permission. Note: I'm no saying whether it's right or wrong, I'm merely discussing whether it's stealing or not. The example you gave is not stealing. I did not take anothers property without his permission.

My research led me to believe it's a limitation of XUL on OSX.
FWIW, this issue is Bug 151249 (http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=151249) in their bug database.
Based on the discussion, it appears that the original Mozilla code was using the old MacOS event manager, which only supports one mouse button. They never updated it to the new Carbon mechanism, which supports up to 64K mouse buttons - hence the bug. (Right-click worked because they were faking a CTRL-click event.)
Anyway, it would appear that someone finally updated at least some of that code to use the newer Carbon API, and that a patch was developed. But since they haven't closed the bug yet, I would assume it hasn't made its way into any releases yet.

I guarantee these guys know more about apple computers than the people who work at that apple store.
which, to all who have applied to no avail, we all know is the saddest thing...

I personally think you will love the iBook. the 700MHz G3 is not a slow computer. I have a 600MHz and it does anything with ease in OSX 10.2. If you are going to be hauling it all over like it sounds you will find the iBook is very durable! I think if you want a G4 iBook you might have to wait awhile, but I would not be suprised if there is a speed bump to the G3 soon. IBM has up to 1GHz G3's out now. I don't know why they would not use the speed.
The Powerbook is a good machine, but it will cost you much more and there is nothing you can do on a Powerbook that you can't do on an iBook. If you have a new iMac at home, I would think the iBook would be the perfect computer to go with it. If I was you I would let it come and enjoy it. You can always keep waiting for the next best thing, but you will wait forever, because they will always keep improving stuff.

It's an interesting problem. I would bet you will find this hole in WMA stores for the same reason. Of course Jon prefers to target the source that will get him headlines.
Agreed, Jon probably wants headlines.
Apple will make another "good enough" fix to block it for another 6 months. But they really don't care. Although externally they "care", I bet internally it doesn't particularly bother them because ITMS is so big that the record companies can't afford to pull out of it.
The problem is, this may not hurt Apple all that much but it will hurt the Music Download industry. With every DRM that is cracked it gives the RIAA more fuel against their "downloading is bad" campaign. Also less labels would be willing to allow iTMS to sell their music.

is it me, or does macrumors seem more impersonal these days?
while some of the back and forth from the old days like john123 vs spikey and kela, or alphatech vs newbies were sometimes not very friendly, people here had a community and were familiar with each other
now that macrumors is approaching 20,000 members, is there still the same sense of community?
..or does it seem weird because i am the last person standing from macrumor's first six months and from the first year there are perhaps less than half a dozen of us?

Oh, can't I do it on the iMac? :o
I don't think so, but I would be totally wrong. :o
You can use one of my cores. I have 4 after all...but unfortunately this program only uses one...

when the pc industry went to 32 bit with the 386, there was a bit of a transition time, and when
itanium 2 takes hold with 64 bit, if it does, there will be a trasition time...but AMD is going with 64 bit which can work both the 64 and 32 bit side, too, and that may be the better way to go

Actually it's based on the Mach kernel, which does hardware abstraction. OS X has a BSD subsystem as well, but it's not BSD. Mach can, and does, run on a number of CPUs, so does BSD.
If you remember when Rhapsody was first unveiled, Apple talked about "Yellow Box" which was a set of APIs for use on x86 systems.
Apple talked about this, and how it would allow developers writing in Cocoa (Objective C) to write their programs once, and run anywhere, much like Java. They killed off Yellow box around the same time that they introduced Carbon.
Yellow Box applications would have had the Windows GUI, but there's no reason Apple can't get the whole OS, Aqua and all, running on x86.
At any rate, they have been working on this from the beginning.
