unfortunately the app doesn't work like that, or you would have to know where to place everything and how to rename it, else the two instances of folding would have a conflict with each other. Therefore mc68k made his own app for the duallies (which works still great!).

That's really quite impressive....I'll have to go to the Apple Store and see if they have any of those on the machines and see what they're like.....

They would have them there, right?

D

I don't think they would :(

Wow. My first post... :D

Anyways, in response to speculation about the hidden meaning behind the Apple Logo, Wikipedia says otherwise.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Computer

Apparently the Apple Logo was designed 2 years prior to the Gay-Pride flag and does not follow the same color scheme.

Take it for what it is worth, it is the Internet after all...

Cheers.

Apple hardware is more expensive? Since when?

Show me a computer comparable to the iMac G5 that is cheaper. I seem to recall that the Gateway Profile costs more these days.

And are the $800 laptops really worth it for serious use? Are the $1100 PC laptops really as good as an iBook?

When I was researching laptops I found several PC laptops that were both cheaper and technically better than the iBook. Some of them were quite nice looking too. Apple's current laptops are nice, but you buy them because you want an Apple, or MacOS X, not because of price/performance.

No objections to the iMac, though. That's a lot of computer for your cash. Heck, I want one myself, even though I don't strictly need one :)

As for the "hackers" bringing down their site.. that was probably caused by the article and link at Slashdot... Slashdot, meet Cherry. Cherry meet The Destroyer of Servers.. err, I mean Slashdot.

I notice good and bad aspects to any internet browser, of course. Firefox and Safari are about *even* in my opinion of their features and functionality. <shrugs> I think I'd use Safari more often if it were just slightly faster.
I digress.

And yeah, it would be a pain in the ass to wear while jogging.

However, I'm also not convinced that the quality of Bluetooth streaming audio would be any better than iRock.

I don't know. I hope I'm wrong.

Got it last night and am most impressed by how much faster it connects and starts. Lots of small improvements. Youtube fullscreen is very nice. I do find the "line drawing" when using the b-trigger to be annoying-- seems like a mouse-gesturing plugin without the gestures. Any idea why that was added?

And even if it was real, the apple logo wouldn't be sideways like that with the screen at a 90 degree angle.
Edit: Post # 50! Slowly but steadily surpassing Duke.

So, basically if you use PyMusique you are in violation of the TOS and because you need an iTunes account to even make use of PyMusique, Apple will know who is trying to violate the TOS.

Thus, as I said before, you'd have to be pretty stupid to even try and use this software.

Well, 18 hours later, here we are, I used a Pepsi cap song to download thru PyMusique, it plays perfectly and all that, and so far my account hasn't been cancelled. You know why? Because it JUST ISN'T WORTH THE FRIGGIN EFFORT on Apple's part to start cancelling accounts for using this software. They have to come up with a block to PyM anyway, and that will solve all their problems.

As for violation of the TOS, nobody gives a rip except people who were hall monitors in high school. And as for being stupid, well, maybe some of us just like our freedom without limits. You can attack us for being "stupid" all you want, but that doesn't necessarily make it the truth. Get used to it - DRM is a paper tiger. I buy music thru iTMS, I buy music on CD, I buy it at allofmp3.com for a dollar an album, and I download for free too. No amount of DRM is going to make me change my habits. Only differences in prices and convenience will make me shift from one method to another when required.

I just got a call back for an interview at an Apple Store in VA. I say round two because this is the same store i worked at when i dissapeared from MacRumors last summer. This time as a Mac Genius.

According to a article at AppleInsider the 2004 paygrade from a Mac Gneius was between 15.08/hr and 22.62/hr. Do these numbers hold up?

don't even go there. :o I went out and bought Bullet Witch & SSX Blur today  That on top of Motorstorm PS3 arriving in the post :D  :D I'm not sure if I'm a gamer or addicted to shopping :D

Depends on how you are actually spending your time, not your money. Gamers mainly game, shoppers mainly shop (or talk shop talk). Others are somewhere in between. If you are actually immersing yourself in the games once they arrive - not just imbibing on their novelty and promises of blissful abandon - then I would say you are a gamer through and through. If after reading this you're still on the fence regarding in which camp you belong, then just ask yourself the next time you have a substantial chunk of free time whether you'd rather be playing a game than reading about it and milking the purchase of vicarious enjoyment of others.

SotN looks great. I also like the idea of a sharper hd version and the attractive border wrapped around the inset game. What would also be cool (er, not exactly, but...) would be ability to toggle between original (100% emulated) music and enhanced soundtrack with high-end DSP (easy on these new consoles).

MacBandit:

Like multitasking for example I have burned a CD while running RC5 and Folding@Home in the background and then started up Unreal Tournament and played a few rounds with little to no drop in speed and stability. Lets see you do that with ANY PC. I did this all while my PC using friends looked (drooled) on. They could not believe there eyes and both started mumbling simultaneously I got to have one.
And you think that's impressive? Did that on my two year old Linux dual Xeon 700/1mb long ago. Except I was running Quake3 and two seti@homes, since folding@home didn't exist at the time.
