It would most likely put to rest the various incompatible RAW formats, plus JPEG and TIFF wouldn't be quite as necessary. Unfortunately, it might involve a version of EPS. I'm not sure that I want to be locked into any Adobe-specific technologies, free or not.

remember 3/4 of businesses fail, what makes yours more likely to get more work than those 3/4.

oh and dont give people pirate software without telling them, some friends who think they are hardcore did and now they have allot of angry customers.

Huh thats what I usually do:confused: anyway im just trying to say it is a common problem and its not like they are going to replace your numchuck.

Common? Common would mean the majority. I don't see 50% of Wii nunchucks having this problem, just as it's not common for a 360 to break (unless that figure IS over 50%?).

OP - Just contact Nintendo. kick up a fuss and get some Wii Points too. If it's broken or just faulty then they will ship you out a new one. These are the guys who will replace DS's with a single dead pixel after all!

See...I've never used linux, but I'm a complete computer geek, so I really should lol. I've been thinking Red Hat would be a good starter...I dunno. I was going to run Gentoo on my PB till I realized I would have to format my drive to partition it etc etc.

Is there anyway we can email them and invite them to help?

We need bertman and FritzTheWonderMutt to get their groove back!

Aprilis, a division of Polaroid, unvelis holographic CDR with a storage from 60 GB to 200 GB. They have released it to tech firms in Japan and Korea first. In it will be here in the USA and the rest of the world.

On a similar note, Seagate will be coming out with a Terabyte hard drive (1000 Gigabytes) sometime in 2003.

This will have huge implications to the music and movie business, since you will be able to store over 100+ DVDx quality 2 hour feature movies on 1 holographic CDR or 1000+ movies on one terabyte hard drive.

Silly me. (http://froogle.google.co.uk/froogle?q=2.5%22+HDD&hl=en&scoring=p&a_n0=gigabyte&a_y0=3&a_f0=50.000000&a_t0=80.000000&a_o0=3&lnk=gigabyte) Not like you can get a 60gb 2.5" HDD for £33.
£74 gets you an 80gb drive WITH casing too and I suspect it comes in some form of packaging. £60 without a case.

Now that I needlessly checked up on 2.5" HDD prices can I rest now?

Wii Remote is justified, or haven't you heard of R&D? how much R&D does an off the shelf 2.5" HDD in a case (with packaging!) need?
Wii Component cables cost too much? Go get 3rd party ones. 360 HDD cost too much? You're buggered.

EDIT: Actually you can get just a 120gb 2.5" HDD for £50! Time to upgrade the PowerBook methinks.

What do you need the huge speed increase for?? Games?? If so buy a Play Station or an Xbox.

I've a 500 Mhz TiBook and it runs Jaguar fine. Could be quicker but I would have though an 800 would be perfect. It appears everyones obsessed with speed. I know it's very important to have progress but it would seem people take things to extremes. I know people who are buying PCs and they ask will a 2Ghz machine be fast enough for using Word? It's all just overkill.

The best thing to improve the performance of the TiBook would be a better graphics card! So many programs are graphic intensive (just look at OS X). Anyhey, I'm not a scientist or trying to render a fully animated film like many of you and so don't need dual processing!

you know, ive been reading around of people who have iEmulator.... some people are getting up into the 700-800mhz range on a G4.... but I dont necessarly know if they are actually getting that speed...

im only getting like, 200mhz on VPC7

If they're using QEMU as the base, not a hope. Closer to 50MHz if they're lucky.

I did a Win 98 install on QEMU about 6 months ago and it too 48 hours. Once you go to use it, it's better, but still nowhere close to VPC7.

Still, it is a very impressive piece of work.

Hmm, I did a search on vista and did not see any threads that looked like it had this video.

Please reread my post above. According to the www.cpuscorecard.com website, an iMac 800 MHz machine is comparable in performance to a 1.8Ghz P4 machine. And if you compare the cost of the iMac to a similarly equipped Dell 1.8Ghz P4 machine, the iMac is actually the cheaper of the two.

This was a real eye opener for me.

So the previous "beta" releases on the Mac were just alphas? Interesting. How long has Opera 8 been in the making? I am surprised that they're already releasing it, but maybe it just feels short.

I'm using a 2.8GHz CPU on my XP machine here at work. My CPU usage hit a Max of 19% when moving a window. What bothers me about Xp (I'll have to check OS X later) but I am using 41% memory when idle. That's a lot of mem. usage. That's with 2GB of RAM.

ha, great advice. But I think Doctor Q has the right attitude. It will continue to serve him well for years to come. I'm working on my PowerMacG4 450 right now and I still use it as my main machine at home (I have a 667 TiPB for work) and I bought it when it first came out, so that's about 3 years ago....not bad if you ask me.

So I'll be looking to buy a new machine next year and look forward to what ever it is G5, Power4, what ever. And by then the G6 and Power5 will be front page of MacRumors....

installed computers...does that count all those outdated macs in poor or broke school districts around the world? ...installed computers sounds like such a worthless stat

we need more speed, we need the G5, and we need lower prices to get back some of the current marketshare

but one reason that there are so many installed macs is that they simply last longer, and as a pc tech, i can attest to that (so in that sense, macs are actually cheaper because one can own a mac which will work well for three years vs. a pc which gets outdated by the latest games/windows version/office version within 20-24 months)

mac software does not attempt to outdate a machine to spur hardware sales

    buy mac!:D
